Yes you read correct, The Warrior Lodge is evolving into an online "Powerhouse" no puns Jonno. Not really but we do now have an active webpage thanks to Ryan Price and is mystical IT efforts.
So what does this mean for the Facebook Page?
https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheWarriorLodge/
The Facebook will remain because its pretty rad. We will host events through Facebook so you will still get all the exciting Event invites.
What the webpage will allow us to do? Lots
For example, we have alot of Chat groups on Facebook for the different systems at club. We want to create a Public forum for these members so they can chat online at their leisure.
There is all sorts of things on the page like painting journals and battle reports already.
Check it out!

Beyond the Gates of Antares
It has arrived! I am now an official Antarean, for the greater good of the Ghar.
The Price is Right!
The Ghar box set for $88.50 from Ebay for an entire Army of 500 points is just amazing. I can't believe I purchased Friday, it arrived Tuesday afternoon and was built before dinner.
What you need:
Sprue Clippers
Super Glue
Suggested:
Blue Tac
Now I have carpal tunnel so building can sometimes be a drag, putting the models together though there is a definite "Click" that we are all too familar with expecting from our kits. But at $88.50 i did not just get a unit or even half a unit. I got an entire starter force. 500 points is the perfect starter army. Great to learn all the game mechanics. Easy to paint 18 models... for an entire army lol
Whats in this box:
4 different units
2 Ghar Battle Squads
1 Ghar Assault Squad
1 Ghar Outcast Squad
The models are just deliteful. The option's of different heads for the Ghar mech units is perfect, do them all the same, mix it all up or what I did. Use a different head for each unit.
The Ghar that are in the box, the only challenge building the models was making sure legs are right. No multipage detailed directions out to build the models simply you see the models on the front of the box and on the back of the box directions on how to build. Ghar maybe a little bit different to some of the other armies. You can easily see many layers detail on the models so then if you like to base dry brush add wash dry brush or something like this in an alternative order it's easily achieved.
How to play.
My main challenge now that I have built models not just to paint them but finding opponent to play against. I'm very lucky that 2 of my mates in club have already ordered their armies and the jealous
that has developed out of my army arriving as a right is very rare feeling being the first!
We have around 15 players who are interested in starting Beyond the gates of Antares but I'm sure this will increase once everybody finds out just how cheap it is to get into and how the game mechanics work. Once they have a read of them very details of the on Antares I think they will be pleasantly surprised at it all diving in headfirst.
Rick Priestley has designed another brilliant game. I'm sure It will have its pit falls as every game tend to.
We were also lucky enough to be selected by Andy Hobgood all games to receive a drone integration pack for the club.
See you soon for some intro games at Warrior Lodge!
Tuesday 25 October 2016
Hello fellow Gamers,
Im writing due to some very exciting news. The Warrior Lodge has been selected by Warlord Games to recieve a supply drop to help with the promotion of their new game from the Author Rick Priestley.
Beyond the Gates of Antares thanks to Adam L Dobbyns and his diligent work for us and the silky smooth letter co-ordination of Jonathon PowerHorse Preece!
I will get the Demo set built up and painted for people to have practice games to test Beyond the Gates of Antares at Club day's.
A few of us have decided on our armies and picked up the very detailedRule Books.
Why play?
Put Simply, "Rick Priestley"! If you have grown up in gw games it was likely due to Rick! This is his new game Beyond Gates of Antares. If that is not enough to convince the game has a great game mechanic very similar to Bolt Action but set in a Sci Fi Future. This allows for a deeper level of strategy between your unit movements which allows adapting to respond to your opponent during each round. Pinning a unit actually means something and can impact significantly even though you may not destroy the unit you can put it out of the game.
Each of the races has a completely different look, play style and feel, meaning every game is going to be different.
Which army?
Im going with Ghar. They look cool and based on the lower model count, bigger models and heavily offensive style. They look a little like Tau but inside are tiny little alien dudes with a bad attitude!
Ive included here in my post a link which describes the different forces:
The games is very cheap to get into compared to GW for example.
Starter set's around $150 giving everything you need to play the game. i got a bargain on Ebay for a Ghar set for $88.50 posted.
Individual army forces are £50-£60, so under $100 to give you a 500 point force. I will organise an event early in the new year to introduce gamers with events later next year at around 1000 points.
We have also been given a access code to get 10% off from Warlord Games.
Ill also post in the comments below a Link to join the Beyond the Gates of Antares facebook page aswell as their description in case I have not already convinced you!
Brothers Revenge ii - Warhammer 30k Doubles Event Series at The Warrior Lodge, North Lakes Qld. Brothers Revenge ii has gone off at The Warrior Lodge with a great day and loads of laughs. 10 Teams entered the Day so 20 Players all up. A wide variety of 30k Experience with some players rolling their First 30k games on the Day. This 30k Doubles event had each Team playing 3,000 points (1,500 Points each player). Each Player's 1500 points was a Separate Army joining together as Allies using Age Of Darkness Force Organisation Chart. The event ran over 3 rounds with the Total Victory Points for the day. Missions were taken from Book 6 Retribution.
Round 1: MISSION 1 – BLOOD FEUD with Deployment • DAWN OF WAR
Round 2: MISSION 3 – SHATTER STRIKE with Deployment • SEARCH AND DESTROY
Round 3: MISSION 6 – WAR OF LIES with Deployment • VANGUARD STRIKE
The Teams in Brothers Revenge 2 were a great spread including:
Blood angels + Space Wolves, Mechanicus + Mechanicus, Mechanicus + Mechanicus, Alpha Legion + Militia, Knights + Militia, Deathguard + Iron Warriors, Sons of Horus + Iron warriors, Iron Warriors + Militia, Word Bearers + Word Bearers and Emperors Children+Iron Hands.
WARNING WARNING WARNING.... lots of Pictures BELOW!
As you can see from the many Pictures there were some pretty nicely painted armies kicking about. Some guys brought out the Big Guns and others Boxed themselves.
Unfortunately the Knights were just too Strong in the End. Everyone enjoyed the day of gaming and all the new 30k Players throughly enjoyed their introduction to 30k.
Brothers Revenge iii is booked in for October and everyone is madly organising their armies as I type.
Cheers and Be Good

Been a while, but I find it's easier to let a few events happen and have lots of things to talk about rather than more regular posts with less content. I mean my day to day gaming life isn't that fun sadly.
On with the show! The Warrior Lodge recently hosted a members only night at the Community Centre. Aimed at members and Founding Fathers who wanted a bit more chance to actually grab a game and play, rather than rules adjudicate, TO and general community shoulder rubbing.
It may not look it, but the day to day organisation of club activities and getting the scenery etc to and from the club can be exhausting - trust me three cuts from a heavy zone mortalis board can attest to this.
The turn out was great! Like minded members showed up for a night of enjoyable banter, with some 40k practice, a few games of Fantasy for the league standings and a lot of Space Hulk - which up until now I had personally regarded with some distaste. How wrong I was! Game one saw my suicidal rush of fragile terminators (what?!) squished into a gooey paste in the first mission, much to the profound hilarity of Isaac and a few other spectators. Second game played a little better but to same effect. Poor Alex had his heavy flamer fail to kill a genestealer (needing a roll of 2+) three times! Again much to Isaac's glee.
The big event of the weekend (due to be run alongside a Mordheim campaign - which had to be rescheduled at the last minute due to illness - Don't worry it's still happening!) was the One Day Necromunda campaign.
After some furious building days from Isaac, we had some pretty amazing scenery to play on (see the pics below), further enhanced by the wonderful Zone Mortalis board purchased from everyone's favourite board builder, Scott - catch him on an earlier episode of The Eye of Horus podcast, some excellent hobby tips and companies that he talks about.

This was taken to the next level and above - New Honorary Founding Father, Ivan Bragg brought tub after tub of original Necromunda scenery, followed by more scatter terrain ever seen outside of Warhammer world. I'm talking damaged bulkheads, resin barrels, hills, shrapnel and craters to name but a few. Adding this to the existing set up we created (with the enthusiatic help of my two Sons Jack and Ethan) a board most Necro players would give their last bottle of snakebite to play on. This was attested to when I posted our game day on the Necromunda Worldwide page and it elicted almost 200 likes.
After setting the scene with some earlier fluff pieces the four gangs faced off with each other on an 8x4 megafactory , littered with trash, dangerous walkways and masses of line of sight blocking cover. The Squat Van Saar gang taking an early first blood against the rival Van Saar Dusk Angles (deliberate by the way :D) thanks to an amazing rebound from a grenade launcher. The highlight (lowlight for the poor fellow carrying it) was the explosion of the Heavy's Plasma Cannon for the Dusk Angles, giving it's bearer severe problems. Ivan's Coffin Cheater Orlocks calmly won the day with some impressive use of autogun accuracy against Sac's Sluts (all men!) who attempted the classic zerg rush to close the distance and allow his swordsmen to finish things in hand to hand. James' squats recovering after their seemingly easy win - decided discretion was the better part of valour and left the field all members unharmed.
Round two saw the previous combatants swap gangs as the Squat Van Saar interrupted Sac's Sluts in the middle of scavenger hunt. The Dusk Angles fought to protect their home turf against an intrusive Orlock Coffin Cheaters raid. The Coffin Cheaters had a hidden objective to destroy a Water system protected by a some serious walls and opposition. Due to the unparalelled bravery and luck, the Cheaters were soundly beaten back by some stoic and seemingly inspired close combat from one of the Angles youngsters. The other game devolved into some serious blood vendetta resulting in the death of a juve and a normal ganger resulting in both gangs suffering a hit to their ratings in the process. As the the fight progressed the Sluts were able to sneak away with some serious loot, but as time worked against them, and with three bleeding team members, the leader blew a sharp whistle and the grunts dragged their injured colleagues from the sector.
Totting up the scores and ratings - with some HUGE advancements for the Angles resulted in them proceeding to the Final Fight - In the Lodgerdome. Rigged with flame weaponry should anyone stray too close to the walls. The real reason the Guilder wanted the strongest gang, was to pit them against his tame Chaos Marines and his twisted Escher. Rushing forward the marines cut down three members of the Angles with one fell round of shooting, however, fully repaired and healer - the heavy plasma cannon, charged on Max - wasted the generator running the arena dousing the lights and automatic weaponry, allowing the Angles to eliminate the threat and win the day. Looking less than pleased the Guilder handed over a significant cred slate and the Angles left to celebrate!
